HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS

Safely packed up and winterized, Sweet Liberty waits for our return.

Southern beauty decorated for Christmas.

A view of Washington from the bridge; the riverwalk and city docks are relatively recent.  There is an adjoining condominium complex, but little or no interest - a good retirement opportunity for someone!

Pilot Mountain, a peculiar limestone formation near Mt. Airy.  When we first saw it, we thought it was a new born-again cathedral!!

Sometimes it's easier to go through the mountain than over it!

There are still some old timey farms left in the mountains of North Carolina and West Virgina - outbuildings are frequently built from logs.

Lucky adjusts to his new temporary home in the kids' room.

Cousin Duke sports a festive set of antlers - pretty patient for a young dog!

This is why we are reverse snowbirds!  Christmas tree hunting, sledding, snacks by a campfire - ho, ho, ho!  Pix of the northern Hansons to follow as soon as we head up for a holiday visit to Sparta!
